The Mighty Push Supporters Club
It’s inspirational to read stories such as David’s – the effort he’s putting into this quest can only be admired.
We wish David all the best.

Remember you are not alone. There are people like us who care.
Kind regards
Sir Brian Lochore ONZ, KNZM, OBE
I've been lucky enough to be part of some great teams and to lead them in
great challenges. I am delighted to be part of David's team in The Mighty Push. I'll be encouraging all my former team mates to get behind him. I hope you will too.

Scotland, Barbarians and British Lions
Having played rugby for so many years I know that to win at any level requires determination, courage and a degree of skill and David's challenge in New Zealand will need all of those.
I am delighted to add my name to the list of supporters behind The Mighty Push and I look forward to hearing how the training goes and, of course, the cycle itself.
Good luck David
Paul Ackford (British Lions, England, Barbarians and Harlequins)
Having grown in New Zealand I know how tough David's "Big Push" is going to be but I know he's up for it.
I've known David for a while and am always amazed at his desire to take on a challenge - he's certainly got a big one this time!
All the Glasgow Warriors are behind him and I know the fans will get behind him too. We hope David will join us at one of our home games as he prepares for his trip. We're proud that David has his roots in Glasgow and in Scotland and I know he'll do us proud on the Big Push as he helps take on the challenge for advancements in the treatment of spinal injuries.
Go for it, Big Man!
Sean Lineen (Head Coach, Glasgow Warriors)
Success in life is not so much determined by the trials we face but rather how we deal with them. Each of us, every minute of every day, has the opportunity to choose our own attitude. Sometimes this is easy and sometimes it is difficult but either way we have a choice.
For some people to choose a positive attitude is so much more difficult. Since his paralysis many years ago Dr David Millar has consistently chosen a positive attitude where it would have been so much easier to do otherwise. David’s courage in confronting not only those challenges facing him but also those many other obstacles he chooses to construct is inspirational.
I’ve travelled from Christchurch to Dunedin on a train drinking champagne and fine dining and I know how far it is. There are no such luxuries on a hand bike. David will take a lot longer than I did that day but he will be driven by a power so much greater than that which propelled our train. The combination of faith, love, dedication and the human spirit is palpable. I encourage you to feed off David’s energy and support his cause.
David, keep up the great work.

Our nephew David has faced an unthinkable number of challenges since that life changing day in New Zealand 20 years ago. He has faced them all with dignity, determination and humour. I have no doubt that he will embrace The Mighty Push in the same way and that the support, both emotional and financial, that he receives in the coming months will go a tremendous way to help achieve a fantastic goal that has the potential to be life changing for so many affected by spinal injury. We are very proud of him and wish him every success.
My wife Christina and I look forward to raising a glass with him on the Finishing Line!
